VA_HB_SHA_NOR_lg_1.jpgI recently had the privilege of trying out some products provided by OnlyGreen Organics, a new direct sales company offering certified organic products.  Susie Schiering, an Independent OnlyGreen EcoAdvisor, was generous enough to send me samples of their new shampoo and conditioner, an orange creamsicle lip balm and compostable plastic ware.

The VADA brand shampoo and conditioner are manufactured by OnlyGreen and they work very well.  However, as with most organic toiletries when the sodium lauryl sulfate or sodium laureth sulfate is missing the lather is just not as abundant as it is with mainstream brands.  I will say that in the second washing the shampoo lathers up much better when a little water is added when washing.  The scent wasn’t anything to write home about and reminded me of other brands our family has tried.  The end result was that these two products did leave my hair shiny and full of volume.

VA_HB_LB_lg.jpgMy children really liked the VADA lip balm.  It smelled yummy and felt great.  Other brands, even though they work, they often sting and OnlyGreen’s did not.  With the cold weather the children’s chapped lips have found relief, but their lips are not completely healed by any means.

The compostable plastic ware is still in our composter, so perhaps I will give you an update on how well it breaks down when I write a review about our new compost bin.  The plastic is sturdy and Susie told me that it has a heat resistance to 200 degrees (I forgot to test that part!) and I love the fact that it won’t be in a landfill for years to come.
