We were recently afforded the opportunity to test several soaps, a lotion and a lip balm made from goat’s milk; compliments of Marsha Louk of Laurel Fork Farm. Laurel Fork Farm is located in West Virginia and is family owned and operated. They use all natural ingredients, no dyes, chemicals or preservatives. Their products are made from real goat’s milk and the goats are pasture raised without the use of hormones and minimal use of store bought grain.

Now, don’t let the thought of washing with milk unsettle you if you are new to the use of goat’s milk in personal hygiene products. It really is delightful to use. The Blueberry Goat Milk Lotion smells like blueberry and alerts your senses to a pretty fruit scent. It leaves my hands feeling so soft. As an example, I put the lotion on generously last night before I went to bed. Since waking, I have washed my hands numerous times and my hands still feel soft. I’ve never experienced anything quite like that before in any hand lotions I have used.
The lip balm works well, but it doesn’t smell nearly as nice as the soap and lotions. It isn’t in a chap stick form, it’s a little tin that requires you to apply the balm with a finger. Not a problem for us older folks, not nearly so easy for the little people nor as neat.
Our oldest daughter raves about the soap. We received bars in chocolate milk, black raspberry tea and vanilla. All are yummy smelling and again leaves your skin feeling so silky soft. Our oldest has had problems breaking out with different soaps, but experienced no problems with Laurel Fork Farm’s goat’s milk soap.
We think these would make wonderful gifts at affordable prices for so many who are watching their budgets closely this holiday season.
