“It’s expensive being green.” As a college student, I hear this complaint a lot from people who are reticent to help Mother Earth a little! They choose cotton pants that are $10 cheaper than hemp pants; they look past the organic foods and go for the on-sale produce, and they always forget to bring a reusable bag when they shop.

Okay sometimes I forget my little grocery tote, too (and I do feel badly), but hey, I’m trying. Here’s my take on the Top 5 Easiest Ways to Go Green:
- Choose filtered tap water over bottled water and use a reusable water bottle.
- Get off junk mail lists. Go to 41 Pounds and sign up now!
- Buy locally. Look for farmers’ markets, community gardens, family farms, and other sources of sustainable and organically grown food near you @ Local Harvest.
- Do full loads of laundry and set the cycle to “cold.”
- Request e-statements for bills instead of paper statements to save trees. You’ll never lose a bill in the mail, either.
Easy, right? No more excuses; put these five ideas into practice and you’ll start feeling better immediately. For more ideas on easy greenery, check out Crissy Trask’s popular little book, “It’s Easy Being Green”

World Water Day 2010 – what’s on tap

I’m a college student, and I’m guilty of going for the cheaper clothes and food instead of organic food. However, we have a farmer’s market in my college town, and I try to go shopping there during the fall.
Also, my roommates and I try to be as green as possible by using a Brita filter instead of buying bottled water because it actually saves us money and is better for the environment. We also recycle paper, plastic, and aluminum cans!
Going green can be easy. Hopefully other people realize it too!

What real Green house culture or Green building culture is, can not be caught in words. The Indian philosopher Vivekananda, used 3 word to express this sentiment: good, nice and true.
what is good, is also true and nice.
what is true, is also good and nice.
what is nice, is also good and true.
Still, nature gives us joy and happiness, rest and peace. And this all free of charge – without expecting a consideration, except being left alone as independent.
However, We, modern people think of ourselves as more intelligent than nature. Our products are more perfect than everything what the environment let millions of years grow from the ground.
For Green living Tips there are a lot in the net more or less useable.
