What’s not to love? Jeff Sauer takes reclaimed flooring, timber and paneling and gives them a new life as beautifully handcrafted rustic furniture with a great distressed look. Jeff sells his creations through his one-man company – Barn Boy Furniture. He gets 100% of his wood, and almost all his raw materials – including hardware and finishes – from old homes and teardowns, the local dump and estate sales. All his cupboards, tables and benches are super eco-friendly.

The Yellow Pioneer piece pictured above was built from the Douglas-fir paneling of an old farm kitchen, and the top of the piece is made from Douglas-fir floorboards from a 90-year-old house that was torn down in San Luis Obispo.

Jeff’s one-man shop is located in Arroyo Grande, CA, just north of L.A.. About 90% of what he builds is custom. Nice.

I find myself spending more and more time here lately. Thanks for your blog. =)
This furniture is beautiful! I was wine tasting in CA and stopped at a winery where they had Barnboy pieces on display. The pictures don’t do it justice. The finish is so smooth! You can tell a lot of love goes into them. Great to see them on this site!
Barnboy furniture has more passion and love put into it than most people will ever know. The man who makes the furniture has done a great job making the world a better place by recycling everything. I hope that his furniture, and his concept of reusing materials, will live on for many generations to come. Long live Barnboy!
The man and his furniture are awesome. If I had the money I would furnish my home with all Barnboy! He definitely walks the walk and he’s gorgeous, too. A nice bonus.
its all about distressing furniture.
