Summer days and nights should be all about looking and feeling as relaxed as possible, but that doesn’t mean we have to lose sight of our eco fashion style.

An easy way to make a statement or finish an outfit is with a sweet, well-placed clutch or straw bag. Karen Lukacs upcycles pre-loved clothing and materials into fresh accessories. Each of her pieces is unique.

Add a dash of sizzle to your summer style –the small clutch is fabricated from a repurposed necktie & vintage button, ($67.50). And the chocolate brown woven raffia bag is embellished with turquoise-beaded ribbon and a lively polka dot interior, ($120). Find @ etsy.com

Maureen – Have you heard of those “Trashy Bags” that are being made by folks in Ghana. Pretty cool concept that’s similar to the Etsy bags above, but instead of just using used materials they actually use trash (all these plastic drink sachets that apparently cover the countryside).
The bags have more of an ‘eco pop’ feel than ‘eco chic’ I’d say, but they can be pretty colorful and I think are even being exported out to some asian countries.
Anyway, may be worth checking out if you don’t know about them already.
Thanks for the suggestion, we posted about them some time ago.
Thanks for taking notice of my one-of-a-kind items, and posting them on your site! I appreciate the attention.
Pretty bag, I love the turquoise beads, they look great with brown.
I like the raffia bag, thanks for sharing.
