UPDATE: It’s official – Congratulations to our lucky winner, MJ, aka butterflyRouge. Thanks to everyone for entering. If you didn’t win this one, never fear – just check out our latest Great Green Giveaway.
Thanks to the eco fashionistas at Philadelphia based, SA VA, one lucky winner will receive The Addison, a beautiful wrap, perfect for fall. This black beauty drapes in a variety of ways; one size fits all; fair trade, made in the USA of renewable wool. (Knit wrap retails for $99 and prize includes free delivery to anywhere in the USA or Canada.)
With a retail shop (and manufacturing next door) located in the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood, we asked founder & CEO, Sarah Van Aken, to tell us more about her eco and socially responsible company:
“We are trying to take a comprehensive approach to socially conscious clothing. We have reduced our carbon footprint in half by moving our garment factory here, from Bangladesh; we use recycled paper hangers and compostable shopping bags; and even better is the local living wage job creation we have created. As we grow, we really want to try to increase the amount of sustainable textiles we use to make the most sustainable product on the market.”
Winner will be selected in our Random Drawing, and notified by email. Contest ends Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 11:59p (EST). Winner has 24 hours to claim their prize, or that offer is null and void. Winner’s name will be included on this post.

not sure which is the most important but price is probably it.
What is important to me is how and what a garment is made of.

I visited the recommended website and loved especially their “Sustainable” product section. To me, it is very important what a garment is made up of. Thank you for the giveaway.
all these factors are important. How made & material affect the price.
I think it is more important to me what a garment is made of but if the price is astronomical forget it.

Definitely how it’s made… but the price can make it or break it if I am undecided on whether or not I want it or not.
The price is ALWAYS important but it’s nice to know what it’s made out of too
I always see what it’s made out of first and then decide if I can afford it by looking at the price
How a garment is made and what it is made of is most important to me, although I have to be conscious of price too!

Fabulous items at SA VA! This wrap is perfect, I have a purple one I’ve had for years and it’s time for a new one! Answer: how a garment is made is most important followed by price!

I like a garment to be consciously made and have a reasonable price, however, if I had to choose, I would see what it’s made out of first before making a decision. I would rather have less quality garments than many from dubious sources.

Most important to me is that the item is made from sustainable items. I try to practice the 3 R’s: Reuse, Reduce and Recyle.
Oh wow! They have such great stuff. The quality of a garment is always important but price always dictates my purchases.

Clothing quality is the most important to me. I’d rather pay a bit more for something that will last rather than re-buying the same “cheap” item. Not so cheap when you buy it every year for a decade.
Price first & then everything else falls into place.
First what the garment is made of then I look at price. This wrap looks simply beautiful.
What is most important to me is how the item is made. Of course, in this economy price is important too, but quality is #1.
What’s more important to me is how the garment is made.
How and what a garment is made of is definitely important, but the item but also be affordable.
Probably price.
material, then price.
I would like to say what it is made of but in todays economy I must say price. :–((
Price is most important
Quality, material, then price. If price is not right I walk away or save.
I can’t afford to over-pay for a garment simply because it is responsibly made so I vote price as the priority. I LOVE the wrap. And thank you SA VA for bringing your garment factory to the states!
If I had to rank my buying criteria — First quality, then price, and then how and what it is made from. Nice website and give-a-way. Thanks.
I actually think it is a combo of both that is important to me – I care what a garment is made of, but I also have to stick to a budget. It’s all about quality products that come in at a reasonable price!

What something is made of is most important to me. I have sensitivity to synthetics so I generally stick with all natural materials.

i think price is pretty important but why buy something if it’s going to fall apart and be un-wearable after a short time? sometimes the cost-per-wear is actually cheaper if you go for better quality!
thanks for the giveaway!

I’m starting to care more and more what an item is made of and where it comes from. But price is still pretty important to me too.

When I am shopping for clothing I am most interested in the staying quality of the garment I am purchasing. If the quality is not supberb, then it does not matter what the price is, I will not purchase it. I tend to buy clothing that stands the test of time and stays in style. In order to achieve this goal, I have to have a high standard when it comes to quality. Price is always secondary to quality. Always.
