UPDATE: It’s official – Congratulations to our lucky winner, MJ, aka butterflyRouge. Thanks to everyone for entering. If you didn’t win this one, never fear – just check out our latest Great Green Giveaway.
Thanks to the eco fashionistas at Philadelphia based, SA VA, one lucky winner will receive The Addison, a beautiful wrap, perfect for fall. This black beauty drapes in a variety of ways; one size fits all; fair trade, made in the USA of renewable wool. (Knit wrap retails for $99 and prize includes free delivery to anywhere in the USA or Canada.)
With a retail shop (and manufacturing next door) located in the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood, we asked founder & CEO, Sarah Van Aken, to tell us more about her eco and socially responsible company:
“We are trying to take a comprehensive approach to socially conscious clothing. We have reduced our carbon footprint in half by moving our garment factory here, from Bangladesh; we use recycled paper hangers and compostable shopping bags; and even better is the local living wage job creation we have created. As we grow, we really want to try to increase the amount of sustainable textiles we use to make the most sustainable product on the market.”
Winner will be selected in our Random Drawing, and notified by email. Contest ends Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 11:59p (EST). Winner has 24 hours to claim their prize, or that offer is null and void. Winner’s name will be included on this post.

Price is usually most important.
Liked on Facebook!
i visited the site…i love the Laura shirt!
to be honest, the first thing i think of when i purchase something is the price…but within that, i check for materials! i’d much rather purchase something ecofriendly!

I go by quality and how well something is made of and what type of fabric the product is made of, I want something that is going to last. Obviously price does play a bit more of a role no adays then it use to with the economy the way it is though. Thanks for entering me into this giveaway!
I usually go by price but do tend to buy 100% cotton fabrics when possible

They’re interwtined! If the production/quality is cheap, I won’t pay very much for an item. But if there is thought behind the design/construction/idea, I’m more willing to pay.

I’ve reached a point where I’m definitely more concerned about how a garment is made and what it is made of. It means I buy less, but I buy more responsibly.

Price is very important….but, I need to know what it’s made of. I won’t buy certain fabrics/furs for sure. Thanks!
I’m an email subscriber of yours. Thanks :)
I want to say that it’s more important to know how/where a garment was made, but at the moment I’m ruled by affordability.
Right now, it’s price that’s most important. I wish that were different but that’s the way it is. I still love a great garment and good fabric.

What it is made of is most important to me because of allegys. But where it is made and also the price are very important to. It takes a combination of all three to be right before I buy and object. Thanks for the entry.
The most important thing to me is how the garment is made. I will splurge for a perfect/amazing cut. Thanks for the contest! codisweepstakes2 (@) gmail(dot)com

I look at how the clothes are made and what they are made of but I also watch price. So I weigh both factors when looking for clothes.

I signed up for the newsletter! Price is important, and that depends on latter choice, as well. :)
I’ll pay more for quality if it is something I know I’ll get a lot of wear out of. However, sometimes if it is something trendy that I may wear for a season or two…quality isn’t as important. I tend to gravitate towards rayon and cotton.

I think that the way the outfit is made is more important to me.
For trendy items I go by price, but for solid, practical pieces I want to have for a long time I go for quality.
Price is a big factor but it has to be decent quality as well!
Thanks
