In west Texas, an hour north of Big Bend National Park and tucked into its own nook of the high mountain desert, Eve’s Garden Organic Bed & Breakfast and Ecology Center quietly lures eco-minded travelers.

Today, what was once an experiment in alternative living, has transformed into a thoughtful retreat that never lost sight of research-level organic gardening. An urban hacienda that combines art, architecture and ecology, Eve’s Garden consists of several buildings – each of which was crafted using environmentally considerate techniques — straw-bale and paper adobe buildings, recycled materials and locally sourced menus make this a true “green” getaway.

According to co-owners Clyde Curry and Kate Thayer, the goal of Eve’s Garden was thoughtfulness, to motivate guests to pursue the projects that they dream of and to realize that they really can make a difference.
