The spirit of a sportster squeezed into a golf cart?  Nissan’s newest zero-emission concept looks the part, and with a name like Twizy (its sister company counterpart), how can you not fall just a little in love with the ultra-compact urban car?  The automaker thought-up this two-seated, futuristic ride when considering the growing number of single households and the need to drive shorter distances in smaller groups.

Offering 100 percent electric power, Nissan’s New Mobility Concept could one day be the answer to questions like: How can we connect public transportation hubs?  What kind of car can be commuter- and business-friendly?  And what type of vehicle appeals to both urban and touristy types?

While it’s a far departure from the Leaf, which Nissan is releasing in the U.S. this December, I’d wager that this door-less car meets the needs of an audience all its own.  Small and sustainable, punky and practical, the Concept — for now — will help the car company better decipher the path that it takes in electric vehicle design and development.  Projected range is set at 62 miles and a top speed of 47 miles per hour.  What do you think?  In 2020, will this be the car in your garage?
