rustic koper table – reclaimed douglas fir

kopertable1.jpg

Reclaimed wood saves living trees, keeps stuff out of the landfill and can often make something more beautiful and expressive than its original incarnation.

kopertable2.jpgThe wood used in this rustic Koper table is from reclaimed Douglas Fir wood beams collected from torn down buildings in Los Angeles. This ruggedly modern table has an optional top, and the missing bars give it a more open dimensionality. It utilizes the skeleton of old buildings in a new form.

Green tid-bit: to reduce waste they don’t create this table until you order it.

The 16″ long x 16″ wide x 16″ high cube has an all-natural linseed oil finish @ viesso.com

Gordon Roddick, co-founder of The Body Shop and past Observer Ethical awards winner, said: “This list highlights the dedication and innovation of the global figures that are making the world a better place. It inspires people to think about their own ethical campaigners and who they will vote for in The Observer Ethical awards 2011…

Among this year’s list of nominees in the field of environmental science and sustainable living are:

  • Brad Pitt alongside sustainable builder and author, William McDonough
  • David Takayoshi Suzuki, science broadcaster and author (most recently The Legacy)
