Who are today’s green power players? It’s that time of year – The Observer just launched their Ethical Awards for 2011. You can nominate and vote for your eco superhero; the deadline for entries and votes is Friday, March 11, 2011.

Dubbed the green oscars, participate by simply visiting The Guardian online.

Lucy Siegle, The Observer’s ethical living correspondent and chair of the ethical awards, said: “The list won’t be to everyone’s taste ideologically or politically, but these are the names influencing the way we think, adapt and respond to ecological and social justice issues.”

Gordon Roddick, co-founder of The Body Shop and past Observer Ethical awards winner, said: “This list highlights the dedication and innovation of the global figures that are making the world a better place. It inspires people to think about their own ethical campaigners and who they will vote for in The Observer Ethical awards 2011…

  • Brad Pitt alongside sustainable builder and author, William McDonough
