going local: the urban chicken coop

nogg.jpg

Urban gardening is becoming soooo trendy – why rush off to the market for fresh eggs when you can get fresh ones from your own backyard? But where does a space-challenged urbanite with a sense of style safely house those peckish chickens?

Solution – hatched in the U.K., the nogg…a sculptural cedar chicken home with many chicken-friendly features: fox-proof latches, removable base tray for cleaning, a glass top that lifts for ventilation, a rear hatch for egg removal and cedar construction that is naturally antibacterial and fresh smelling. Said to house up to 4 chickens. Designed and hand crafted by Matthew Hayward.
