If you’re involved in a non-profit that could use some very nice wheels you may want to enter Toyota’s new “100 Cars for Good” program, which will award 100 vehicles over the course of 100 days to 100 deserving nonprofit organizations based on votes from the public.
Beginning March 7, 2011, registered 501c(3) non-profit organizations can apply online through Toyota’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/toyota for a chance to win a Toyota Prius, Tacoma, Tundra, Highlander Hybrid, Sienna, or Sienna Mobility.
A six-year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty will also be provided for each vehicle awarded. Applications submitted by March 21, 2011 will be reduced to 500 finalist organizations. Organizations will be selected by an independent panel of judges who are experts in the fields of philanthropy and social responsibility. Finalists can submit videos, create their own online profiles and rally their friends and supporters to encourage voting for their organization.
Public voting begins on May 9 and will take place for 100 consecutive days. Each day, five organizations will be profiled on Toyota’s Facebook page and voters may vote for the charity they feel is most deserving of the vehicle. A vehicle will be awarded each day through August 16 for a total of 100 vehicles. Voters may place one vote per day, each day, over the course of the program.

I hoping I can win a car through you guys. Ive been car less for almost two years now. My car was flipped by my boyfriends brother. For the last two years now I’ve been waiting for him to. Pay me for my car, so I can get another car. I had just got a Honda passport in July and in the middle of august it was flipped. I have been struggling to get to and from work, to any of the stores I need to go to or anywhere around town. My family and friends live an hour away from me so it hard to see them. I’ve always been a good person and always put everyone before myself and this is what happens to me. It seems like my boyfriends brother is doing to help me any time soon I could really use happy. I’m always getting the crappy end of the stick. I deserve some help I always think of everyone before myself please help me. Thank you for your time. Gina Pippi
If there are any charitable programs for a Toyota (especially a Camry), please let me know. After almost 2 years of unemployment and struggling to still paying for a 2000 Camry with 122,000 miles and needing tires, radiator and leaking oil badly, I can’t afford to lose the ride I love. If there are any discount coupons for repairs or parts/accessories, please also inform me. Thanks: from a 57-year old divorcee who would have been lost the past 5 years without the car she loves!!!
Damn, I so wish I had known about this sooner. My organization, Community Greenhouse Partners, is a 501(c)3 charitable organization that’s in desperate need of a truck or other vehicle large enough to pull a trailer full of compost bins. We’re trying to grow food in an urban food desert, teach people sustainability and create jobs, and it’s very hard to do with only an old Dodge Caravan and a Honda Fit. If there’s any chance that we could still slip in under the wire and be considered for a bigger vehicle like the Tacoma, Tundra or especially the Highlander Hybrid — which fits our sustainability model to a T — we would be greatly appreciative. We signed up for the charitable 501 C3 100 car give away. The group was wondering if our application went thru.Just basically an update .
Hi,
To check the status, link directly to the Giveaway site:)
when will the organizations be notified?
Organizations that are in the 500 finalists will be notified by April 11th. Voting begins May 9th.
Good luck to all the nonprofits making a difference out there@ Thanks toyota for helping those of us on the frint lines!
I saw an ad in The New York Times this week, but it turns out you stopped taking contest entries two months ago. How did non-profits learn about this? Our Y serves a very distressed community, and desperately needs a small truck. We’re too late, though. How can we participate next time?
Hi Pat,
We aren’t affiliated with Toyota in anyway. They sent us a press release – we thought the program was valuable so we gave it some exposure. You’ll have to contact Toyota to directly to get on their email or Facebook update list.
You know, i am still sending this message to you because i know that my car ministry needs a truck. i had a 2007 Sukuzi XL7 but was declared a lemon. it gave me a lot of room to set up at community playgrounds, go to the low poverty stricken areas and churches to bless the needy people through Proverbs 31:20 Car ministry. now i drive a small saturn but am still loving to bless others. I also have clothes mailed to Haiti through my ministry. i do not see why i should not be awarded a truck even thought i do not plan to file a 501C3. there are a lot of people being blessed, but i could not have done it without my supporters who are my donators..LOVE AND PEACE AWARD ME. Woodland Blvd. Leesburg, FL 34748 Hope to hear from you soon.
when will they be giving cars away to single low income mothers who really need the help because they walk there kids to school in the rain
Twice a year my church offers a FREE oil change and breakfast to single moms in our community. Every October and April we service 50-80 single Mom’s. Many of them drive cars that are really in bad shape. We would love to be able to offer one lucky mom a car instead of a free oil change. Please consider our non-profit mission to better our community.
Yes oh yes i would love and treasure a new toyota not only just because i would be proud but my children borrow mine all the time because my son in law has to work and his car is down now so i let them use mine until they can afford to get their fixed so please do consider me please
Thank you Lona McGrew
I saw an ad about this program on TV this morning, June 17th. Decided it would be a valuable resource for my charity since we don’t own a car and use personal cars to the tune of 20K miles each year. Much to my surprise, you are advertising a program that was effectively terminated months ago!
Hi Bob,
Just to be clear we have no affiliation with Toyota. We wrote about the contest when it was still open for entries. The ads running on our site are through our ad network and are contextural – meaning they are content driven. The contest is still open for daily voting for entered organizations on the Toyota Facebook page. (http://www.facebook.com/toyota) and will be for some time.
I really need a car bad. Back in March, I was hit and the other car took off and hasn’t been seen since. I had a 2009 Altima and now i have nothing. I have to use my grandparents car which is black and has no air and the only window that lets down is the drivers side. It really hot where i live too and I have been praying EVERYDAYYY that God would send me a car. I hope i can get one somewhere.
I also do alot of community service (Adult Day for the Nursing Home patients, Ronald McDonald, Relay For Life, etc..) and its really hard to do without a car.
Our Hospice house needs a vehicle very badly. The Hospice house is located in Tupelo, Mississippi. Thank you….
Do you do this every year?
How can i personally get one of these donated cars? i need help with a vehicle and have nnnooo money and in a bad situation! Can’t get a job dealing with financial issues

Free Charity Car helps the handicapped and low income families in need of a vehicle. There is a voting process and it also goes by how much you promote. Out of 5800 in TX. I am 10 so far. It would be wonderful for Toyota to support this non-profit that helps so many people every year and expects no fees, or nothing in return. Please consider FCC.org. to help give a hand up not a hand out in these hard times we all are facing. Thanks for your consideration.
