St. Paul, Minnesota-based 3M‘s Scotch Magic brand turns 50 this year, and as they turn the corner on the Big 5-0 they’re rolling out Greener Tape. We received one refillable tape dispenser and a replacement roll of new Magic Greener Tape for the purposes of this Review. After putting them to the test, here’s what we think…

Over the years, I’ve tried less expensive brands of tape a few times, but always go back to the Magic. Aside from its overall performance, I’ve been drawn to its texture, easy roll and ability to be written upon. So it’s good to see a Greener version in the marketplace today.

Greener_Magic.jpgFor starters, we like the fact that the dispenser is now easily refillable.

  • tape is made with over 53% plant-based material
  • dispenser & core are made of 100% recycled plastic

As with the previous version:

  • it can be written upon with pen, pencil or marker
  • refills are designed to fit standard desktop and handheld dispensers

Suggested retail price is $2-$4 for the refillable dispenser, which comes with a 600-inch roll of greener tape. $5-$7 for a 2-pack of 900-inch refill rolls of Greener Tape. You can find it at mass merchandisers, office superstores, drug, grocery and craft stores nationwide. Don’t get stuck without it:)
