Poison Ivy – homeopathic relief

Full disclosure: this is not an “advertorial of any sort” – just a true story that I had to share ’cause I recently had a brush with poison ivy, I tried this stuff and it really works!

I was going bonkers the other day, ready to jump out of my skin because of an allergic reaction to a plant that must have come into contact with my skin.

It was the middle of the night so I padded into the kitchen, opened my refrigerator door and don’t ask me why, but I dabbed some organic nonfat plain yogurt on it. Instant relief.

Next morning, I showered, gently cleansing the rash on my ankle. After drying off, the itch returned and became incessant. More yogurt, instant calm. Realizing this was only a temporary fix, and not having any anti-itch stuff on my shelves, I made my over to the nearest drug store to do some investigating. (more…)

This concept for the laptop of the future was short-listed in designboom’s Fujitsu Design Award 2011 competition. The Lifebook Leaf laptop design features an exterior polycarbonate shell covered in amorphosis solar cells. The whole deal is designed to be waterproof, durable and scratch-resistant.

The interior is one continuous touchscreen that can be viewed vertically as a conventional laptop or horizontally as a tablet/wide screen display. The rubberized interior prevents scratching the screen when you flip it face-down for solar charging. The design also features 3 cameras for 3D photography and a 4G module with small OLED screen for alerts. Designed by Carl Burdick and Laura Karnath.
