
Renewable energy and smart grid technology will undoubtedly play dominant roles in future energy production. In an effort to uncover innovative energy solutions and new approaches, global technology giant Siemens has provided the public with an opportunity to present their best ideas. Proposals can cover any topic or aspect of energy use and management, including: creation, distribution, transmission, storage or utilization.
Siemens is accepting proposals for the Smart Grid contest until June 15, 2011. The five winning contestants will be awarded $21,000 and a trip to Berlin, Germany to meet with Siemens Smart Grid experts. Siemens has also committed to providing more than over $1.5 million to convert the participants’ best ideas into reality.
Ideas are posted online where people can review and comment openly. Candidates get the opportunity to receive feedback and exposure from people all over the world. Get the conversation started at the Siemens contest homepage.

























There is a huge void in the market. Why are we not pushing for ‘small wind’ projects either a single home wind units or ‘small-wind’ WIND farms which can be built for modest funds and with less environmental impact or visual pollution.
