The Compassionate Diet: How What You Eat Can Change Your Life and Save the Planet by Arran Stephens with Eliot Jay Rosen published by Rodale. $17.99 (All net proceeds from this book will be donated to charities that support a positive, vegetarian lifestyle.)
The Compassionate Diet is a beautiful little book, packed with useful info, bound to change the way you look at food and how it impacts your health and the health of the planet.
Author Arran Stephens is the founder of Nature’s Path Foods, North America’s largest organic breakfast foods company — he should, and does, know plenty about nutrition and health. SHEfinds Editor, Eileen Conlan, and I were at the Te Casan kick off event one snowy night in SOHO, New York City in 2008 when Natalie Portman debuted her vegan shoe line. Alas, Te Casan has since been discontinued, but Portman, who turned a mere 30 this week, is certainly still kicking. SheFinds brings us the scoop on Oscar winner and mom-to-be Natalie Portman — will the beautiful vegan stay dairy free throughout her pregnancy? And, perhaps more importantly, what about that fabulous deal on Beyond Skin designer vegan footwear?
These Sunny Platforms come in 2 pretty colorways (bright orange & blue, or cherry & taupe) or classic black. They’re made of faux patent and the wedge is covered in organic cotton … more @ shefinds.
