Colorado micro brewer Colin Westcott and his company, Equinox Brewing take keeping their business local and sustainable — very, very seriously.

When Westcott opened his micro brewery, he vowed to serve his brew in his own taproom, as well as select bars that were either within walking distance, or hand truck delivery. Since his home base of Fort Collins is bike-friendly, he expanded his delivery options by commissioning the design and creation of the ‘keg trike’ from the local father-son bike building team of Carl and Zach Yendra.

The trike is hand-built from sturdy mountain bike components, fits in a standard bike lane and has hauled loads in excess of 500 lbs. If sold at retail, the bike would cost around $4,500.

The Yendra’s are exploring a design that includes a keg trailer that could sustainably deliver up to 6 kegs or tasty, local libations – emissions-free.
