The geometric shape of the cabinet contrasts with the rough-hewn character of the old floorboards. The exterior and interior of the piece feature different sized and proportioned boxes for use as display areas or storage.

reclaimed fence wood sconces and racks

reclaimedwoodcoatrack.jpg

Why let an old fence go to waste when you can create beautifully rustic sconces, racks and coat hangers from its remains? Festoon your country kitchen or weekend cabin with items made from old salvaged fence tops. The abundant character and patina of the reclaimed fencing reflects decades of exposure to the elements.

Note: this is also a great DIY project for anyone with access to a supply of salvaged wood fencing and a table saw.

Out with the old, in with the new – Don’t trash your old electronics – Recycle or Reuse!

recycling_electronics.jpg

Electronics are once again dominating holiday shopping lists this season. In fact, analysts with the Consumer Electronics Association predict shoppers will spend six percent more on electronics this year compared to last – or about $250 per consumer.
