EcoChi Tips for Spring Cleaning Your Home and Your Life

As the season of spring enters it brings with it, the energy of rebirth. Think of the smell of new grass, rain showers and bulbs pushing through the soil with their long awaited colorful blossoms. This is the season of hope, optimism and a chance for a fresh start. Follow these tips to clean up your act in time for spring and help you regain control of your environment and your best self!

Spring Clean Your Life
1. Spring is the time for a “Clean Sweep
Keep nurturing the relationships that are a positive addition to your life and for those that don’t-bring out the broom!
2. “Polish Up” your appearance
Get a haircut, exfoliate, moisturize and polish your fingers and toes!  Shine yourself up in time to welcome fresh opportunities and the new energy of spring!
3. “Clear the Air” and move on
It is a new season, so why hold on to grudges, worries and stresses? Express what you iStock_000005830377XSmall_1.jpghave on your mind. Talk it out, yell, cry and then leave it behind you. Spring provides a fresh start for all who are open to new beginnings.
4. “Plant seeds” for your future
Start a new business, open a savings account or take a personal finance class. This is a great time to make an investment in you!

Spring Clean Your Home
1. “Let Go of Clutter” with Baby Steps — Make room in your closets for your spring clothes by using my Stay-Maybe-Go system. Make 3 piles:

  • Stay for the items you will keep.
  • Maybe for the items you are undecided about and
  • Go for donations, recycling or trash

Things that you find difficult to separate from go into the “Maybe” box. Seal it and date it. Before you open the “Maybe” box 6 months later, make a list of the things you missed. Open the box and whatever is not on the list then goes!
2. “Good, Clean Fun” with your favorite tunes
Cleaning can be fun & effective with the help of good vibrations.  Yes, great music motivates-so turn up the volume!
3. Shower yourself with the gift of an “Air Bath
Be sure to use eco-friendly cleaning products for your spring cleaning and open the windows to dissipate any fumes and refresh your space.
4. Encourage “New Energy
Get rid of old, stagnant energy collected during the winter months by placing a small bowl of sea salt in the corner of each room. Discard the old salt in the morning & fill it with fresh sea salt and repeat for 3 days.
