We’ve always admired the looks and green quotient of Loll Design’s outdoor furniture. The Minnesota based furniture maker specializes in creating great-looking, eco-friendly outdoor furniture from 100% recycled high density polyethylene (HDPE i.e. – milk cartons).
Loll has recently added some new pieces to their product offerings. The Finnish inspired Taavi (above) and Gladys (below) chairs were designed by AIA award-winning, Duluth architect David Salmela who also designed the company’s offices.
Green facts: The HDPE recycled plastic used in Loll’s furniture manufacturing is renowned for its longevity, durability and lack of maintenance. The recycled material is sourced primarily from single use milk jug containers. Nearly 99% of the waste from Loll’s manufacturing process is sent to a recycling plant where it is recycled again. From the HDPE plastic to the brass inserts and stainless steel fasteners, Loll furniture is also 100% recyclable.
