Will you be joining hundreds of millions of people in communities and cities all around the globe by turning off your lights from 8:30-9:30 pm EST tonight?
Begun in 2007 as a global campaign to shed light on climate change, and encourage people to be more aware of the impact we all have on our planet, every minute of every day. The 60+ logo represents a commitment to add to Earth Hour a positive act for the planet that goes beyond the hour. In 2012 more than 7001 cities and towns in 152 countries across all seven continents participated.
Organizers dare the global community to participate in an I Will If You Will campaign. What action(s) will you commit to this year to be more sustainable? Ride your bike to work? Use reusable shopping bags? Plant a tree? Use eco-friendly cleaning products? See what Jessica Alba and everyday people commit to (ie let kids dress them for work one day; kite-board wearing a panda hat; play basketball in heels …)
Dare Us: We’ll do two hours of beach clean up for everyone who commits to doing one hour … are you in? Leave us a quick comment above.
