Ryon Lane describes his YogoMat as “the eco-friendly yoga mat that folds and secures to fit in bags and purses, is easy to clean, and you can take anywhere.” He’s financing the launch of his second generation mat via Kickstarter and has already reached his funding goal for producing one color of the mat.
The Yogomat is small enough to fit in a good-sized purse or small backpack, though it unfolds into a full-size mat (24″ x 68″), it weighs only 2 pounds. The mat can be rinsed and hang-dried in your shower using its reversible straps. It has a slip-resistant grip, and is purported to be really “grippy” even when covered with mild perspiration.
Green details: the mat is 100% recyclable, made from 100% biodegradable, sustainably-harvested natural rubber, and manufactured in the Oregon.
Another health-related feature for you germaphobes – unlike a regular yoga mat which rolls up, exposing the practice surface to the dirty underside, the YogoMat folds up, so its top surface never touches its bottom surface. Germs, viruses, molds, and sweat therefore stay on the floor or ground – and don’t touch your body.
